Cyber Aptitude Assessment
DART provided talent assessment and evaluation for Red Alpha’s Alpha Specialist Talent Programme.
Background:
Red Alpha is a cyber talent development company that provides training to non-traditional candidates (individuals with no prior cybersecurity background) and develops them into job-ready candidates. As Red Alpha receives a high volume of applicants for its programme, it needed to be selective in screening and filtering suitable candidates to interview.
The DART Solution:
DART created a highly selective assessment platform to screen thousands of applicants for the interview process. The assessment included online challenges, technical skills and aptitude tests.
The assessment platform filtered more than 3,000 applicants down to over 150 candidates for the interview stage. These candidates possessed high caliber, aptitude and talent that are suitable for cybersecurity roles.

DART built a customized assessment system for a government agency in Asia to screen candidates for roles such as SOC Analysts, Incident Responders and Malware Analysts.
Background:
This government agency experiences a high throughput of around 2,000 candidates a year. They have found that paper qualifications were inadequate in determining whether a candidate was the right technical fit. Their existing recruitment processes also did not yield hires with a satisfactory job fit.
The DART Solution:
Working with our client to incorporate a job-oriented assessment, DART created a seamless one-stop platform to screen candidates across various technical domains such as networking, Python and operating systems. The assessment included hands-on practical exercises that simulated scenarios relating to the role to test for specific competencies.
The government agency found that their new hires had a much better job fit and required less on-the-job training. The recruitment process was streamlined and it was more efficient to hire candidates. The assessment system also freed up significant HR capacity by eliminating the need for initial screening of candidates.

]]>Cyber Range Exercise
Background:
The personnel from these CIIs hold a variety of certifications, including GCIH, GREM and Splunk, with most of them having a few years of cybersecurity experience.
The DART Solution:
DART designed and conducted bespoke cyber ranges that catered to the security stacks used by the respective CIIs. The ranges simulated nation-level attacks to evaluate competencies in incident response and malware analysis, and combined ransomware with network attacks.
While many teams understood in theory how to respond to incidents and analyze malware, they were unable to translate that into practice when required to respond to a real-life scenario. On average, most teams only found 5 out of 28 artefacts and mission exercises.
Through the 3-day exercise, DART was able to test the blue team responses to a nation-level attack spanning multiple CIIs, and reinforce their competencies in preparation for real-life cyber attacks.

DART developed and implemented a cyber capacity building program to establish a new cyber unit in a government agency.
Background:
A government agency needed to build a cybersecurity research lab from scratch and engaged DART’s expertise to help with the end-to-end process.
The DART Solution:
DART did a pre-assessment on each trainee’s skills and abilities and tailor-made courses to challenge them in alignment to the agency’s requirements and end goal.
We developed and conducted a two-year customized training program and imparted extensive knowledge in computer system internals, networking programming and cybersecurity.
After the course, participants were successfully placed into different cyber roles. They were able to immediately apply what they have studied into their new roles as vulnerability and malware researchers, incident response specialists or digital forensic analysts.
